The CMST Summer Gala 2022 was an amazing event to be part of and witness! For all of those who weren’t able to make it or would just like to relive the event again, we have recorded the performances for you to hear now!
Here is what Sara Munns had to say about the event:
Friday 8th of July saw the return of the annual Cornwall Music Service Trust pupil of the year award concert. This gala performance at the Princess Pavilions in Falmouth was a special occasion for many reasons. Firstly, this is the first time since 2019 that we've been able to perform in this way; secondly, for many players and singers taking part, this was their last performance with their CMST group as they're moving into their young adult lives; thirdly, for some CMST pupils, this was the first of hopefully many events where they can show their skills off to their family and to a wider audience.
The sun shone for CMST and we had a wonderful evening of celebration. Choirs, soloists, bands, ukulele players, drummers, keyboard players, flautists, trumpeters, every aspect of the marvellous county-wide work by team CMST was demonstrated and enjoyed. Beginners played for the first time, older students played for some the last time.
Rowan Tidball - winner of the Pupil Of The Year Award - played his winning entry from the Cornwall Music Festival - the Stamitz Clarinet Concerto. A worthy winner of the silver cup in association with Mabe Ladies Choir who were also able to perform four pieces from their summer repertoire.
Happy, smiling faces, having enjoyed their picnics and drinks from the bar to the accompaniment of such variety. Let's do it all again next year!
