As one of the largest registered providers for the Asone Music Hub, our pupils can access the subsidies they offer, subject to availability*, Further information can be found on their website HERE.
There are limited subsidies available for children who receive school meals, children in care, those in receipt of personal independence payment (parent/carer or child) and the children of those currently serving in the British armed forces.
Subsidy entitlement should be marked during the sign up process under “Apply for a Discount/Music Voucher”. Please note that remissions re only available for one instrument per child and cannot be claimed retrospectively. I.e. it would be best if you informed us of the entitlement before the commencement of lessons, or you will be liable for fees. They are also only available to those in Cornish state schools.

The full application process is as follows:
Click Enrol, and either School Direct Tuition for lessons in school or Music Centres for lessons at limited after school venues.
Choose an already saved pupil or create new details.
Follow the guide to choose your school/centre, the discipline, instrument and lesson type you require.
Select any remissions - we may ask for verification of entitlement and any invalid claims may result in invoice amendment.

If you need to create your account, please be aware you will be sent a verification code. It is important that you keep the sign-up page open whilst retrieving the code, which is why this is best done on a laptop/desktop.

Parents Terms & Conditions
1. Parties: This Agreement is made between the parent/carer/guardian of the learner (the client) and Cornwall Music Service Trust –CMST (the service provider). It is not made with any individual teacher employed by Cornwall Music Service Trust.
2. Duration: This agreement will run from the date of your application. It is subject to review and may be extended or varied by agreement between the parties.
3. Intent: The intent is to regulate dealings between the parties by setting out respective obligations relating to performance and payment for services.
4. Support: Instrumental & Vocal Tuition, Classroom & Ensemble
4.1 Group size will be determined by the teacher in partnership with the client/school and will depend on instrumental and educational needs.
4.2 The timing of the delivery of services will be subject to teacher availability.
4.3 Tuition and ensemble support will be available for 34 weeks and can include 3 performance/workshop lessons.
4.4 When a teacher is absent, CMST will make every effort to reschedule. If this is not possible, the following term’s account will be adjusted.
4.6 If delivery cannot take place due to circumstances beyond the teachers’ control and a notice period of 48 hours has not been given this delivery will be billed. Where possible the teacher will endeavour to reschedule.
4.7 Commencement of lessons indicates acceptance of terms and conditions.
5. CMST Responsibilities – Quality Assurance:
Response to urgent enquiries to CMST office will normally be within three working days. All non-urgent enquiries will receive a response within one week.
6. School/Client Responsibilities: Schools must ensure that the teaching location and conditions are suitable for delivery of music lessons.
6.1 The school has a joint responsibility with CMST for the organisation of lessons and pupil timetabling.
6.2 The client takes responsibility for ensuring the learner attends timetabled lessons. In respect of pupils in receipt of subsidised lessons, we reserve the right to withdraw the allocated subsidy and charge parents if more than three consecutive lessons are missed.
7. Charges:
7.1 Charges will be subject to review on an on-going basis. If charges need to be changed a terms’ notice will be given.
7.2 Clients will be notified of any changes to the rates for the next academic year at the end of March.
7.3 For instrumental and vocal provision there are various options available to schools and parents/carers as per our charge list
8. Charging and Payment Procedures:
8.1 New clients will be charged for the remainder of a term shortly after the first attended lesson is registered. Thereafter, clients will be charged in advance for the next term, with invoices being raised shortly after the end of the current term.
8.2 Should the learner wish to discontinue lessons, a 6 week notice period must be given in writing and will be charged accordingly.
8.3 Payment terms are 14 days from the date of the invoice. However, a standing order/payment plan may be negotiated on request.
8.4 Any queries relating to the calculation of charges should be directed to office@cornwallmusicservicetrust.org.
9. Queries, Concerns and Complaints Procedure
9.1 Any queries, concerns or complaints arising during the course of this agreement should in the first instance be made to the Head of Cornwall Music Service Trust.

Schools Terms & Conditions
1. Parties: This Agreement is made between the School, Academy or Educational Establishment (the client) and Cornwall Music Service Trust – CMST (the service provider). It is not made with any individual teacher employed by Cornwall Music Service Trust.
2. Duration: This agreement will run from the date services commence. It is subject to review and may be extended or varied by agreement between the parties.
3. Intent: The intent is to regulate dealings between the parties by setting out respective obligations relating to performance and payment for services.
4. Support: Instrumental & Vocal Tuition, Classroom & Ensemble
4.1 Group size will be determined by the teacher in partnership with the client and will depend on instrumental and educational needs.
4.2 The timing of the delivery of services will be subject to teacher availability.
4.3 Tuition and ensemble support will be available for 34 weeks and can include 3 performance/workshop lessons.
4.4 Classroom support will be available by default for the full academic year (39 weeks)
4.5 When a teacher is absent, CMST will make every effort to find a supply teacher to cover the tuition or replacement lessons will be delivered before the end of the academic year.
4.6 If delivery cannot take place due to circumstances beyond the teachers’ control and a notice period of 48 hours has not been given this delivery will be billed. Where possible the teacher will endeavour to reschedule.
5. CMST Responsibilities: Quality Assurance:
Response to urgent enquiries to CMST office will normally be within three working days. All non-urgent enquiries will receive a response within one week.
6. School (Client) Responsibilities: Schools must ensure that the teaching location and conditions are suitable for delivery of music lessons.
6.1 The school has a joint responsibility with CMST for the organisation of lessons and pupil attendance.
6.2 The school has a responsibility to allow CMST staff to teach for 34 weeks in an academic year. Cancellation of a teaching session for reasons such as Inset Days etc should be given 48 hours in advance.
7. Charges:
7.1 Charges will be subject to review on an on-going basis. If charges need to be changed a terms’ notice will be given.
7.2 Schools will be notified of any changes to the rates for the next academic year at the end of March. Rates from September 2022 are £45 per hour.
7.3 For instrumental and vocal provision there are various options available to schools and parents/carers as per our charge list
8. Charging and Payment Procedures:
8.1 Schools will generally be charged around half-term point for that term’s provision.
8.2 Cancellation of services or individual instrumental pupil tuition charged to the school is subject to a 6 week notice period.
8.3 Any queries relating to the calculation of charges should be directed to office@cornwallmusicservicetrust.org.

Once submitted, your application will then get sent to the relevant teacher. When they are able to schedule lessons, you will be sent an “offer” through the portal including the start date. You need to accept this offer and make the first payment. An automatic payment plan will be set for the next two terms.
Your child will then be added to the register and lessons can begin from the relevant date.

In most cases instruments are not provided by the teacher but occasionally schools do have spare instruments which can be borrowed.

Always ask the instrument teacher before purchasing an instrument as there can be many variables in quality and playability which greatly affect your child’s ability to learn and play. Including; sizes, types, materials, etc.
