Girl Chorister Try-out Day!

Girls in Year 7 and Year 8 are invited to take part in Truro Cathedral’s annual ‘Be A Chorister For A Day’ event which takes place on Tuesday 12th November.

For further information please see the poster, below, or click here to visit the Truro School website page. Fantastic Fundraising Effort!

Fantastic Fundraising Effort!

On Saturday the 1st of November, Gareth Churcher (Head of Service for CMST) was invited to the final concert of the Summer lunchtime recital series at King Charles Church in Falmouth. To his delight he was presented with a cheque for £1,700 which is a donation towards CMST's aims and ambitions. Mr Michael White, who presented the cheque, has organised the recital series for many years now and the concerts have gone from strength to strength. Each week performing musicians give their time for free and the retiring collections are given to a nominated charity. For the past 4 years this charity has been CMST, meaning that close to £8,000 pounds has been donated to support CMST's charitable objectives.

Concert of Operatic Arias this Saturday, Mylor Bridge.

Concert of Operatic Arias this Saturday, Mylor Bridge.

On Saturday 7th September, Jacqueline Kershaw will be performing with the rising young London operatic tenor, James Bowers at All Saints Church, Bells Hill, Mylor Bridge. James will be performing some of the best-loved operatic arias as well as two exciting works in which he will be accompanied by Jacqueline on the horn and Clive Ellison on the piano. The first is the rarely heard Auf dem Strom by Franz Schubert and the second is Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings. This is a hugely demanding work for both the tenor soloist and the horn player requiring the utmost technical skill. For any aspiring tenor, a first performance of this work is a rite of passage. Not only will James and Jacqueline be well up to this challenge, but Clive, on the piano, will coalesce an entire string orchestra under his more than capable hands.
Tickets for this concert (price £10 for adults or £5 for accompanied children under 19 years of age) will be available from August 9 and may be purchased from Mylor Stores or the Flushing Village Shop. Alternatively, they are available now online from the website carrickconcerts.org or by telephoning 01326 374237 direct. For more details please see the event page on Facebook.
