Following an extraordinarily challenging year, staff and students from The Roseland Academy are celebrating Christmas with the production of a brand new Christmas single and video in aid of local charity, St Petroc’s Winter Appeal.
It's an original song written by their orchestra director Matt Douglas, recorded and performed by Roseland students who have played or sung every single instrument and vocal that you hear on the track, which has been created from scratch this term.
Due to the current pandemic The Roseland Academy have been unable to run their usual school orchestras, bands and choirs this term, so they wanted to give their students a different kind of musical opportunity... they have certainly risen to the challenge and all the parts have been recorded individually by students, either at home or at school, before being put together to create the final track.
The Roseland Academy have chosen to support St Petroc's Winter Appeal who are working to end homelessness in Cornwall, and we invite all those who enjoy our Christmas recording to make a donation via the St Petroc’s website on the donations link below.
